BN13 - Hello, 2021

Like most people, I will be glad to see the back of 2020. I think the first part of 2021 is going to be gritty for all of us, but I do believe that things will get better. I’m also grateful for the focussing effect of 2020 - it has taught me a lot about who and what are really important. Key ones for me are:

  • Everyone is struggling, in their own way, so try to be kind. When you don’t feel kind, try harder.

  • People matter. Stuff doesn’t.

  • Spend less.

  • Focus on progress, not the end goal.

  • Good enough is better than “not at all”.

  • Books beat screens every time.

I’m not making any resolutions this year, but I am going to make a conscious effort to apply these personal lessons.
