Like most people, I will be glad to see the back of 2020. I think the first part of 2021 is going to be gritty for all of us, but I do believe that things will get better. I’m also grateful for the focussing effect of 2020 - it has taught me a lot about who and what are really important. Key ones for me are:
Everyone is struggling, in their own way, so try to be kind. When you don’t feel kind, try harder.
People matter. Stuff doesn’t.
Spend less.
Focus on progress, not the end goal.
Good enough is better than “not at all”.
Books beat screens every time.
I’m not making any resolutions this year, but I am going to make a conscious effort to apply these personal lessons.
